A precious metals analyst who strongly recommended buying Bitcoin (BTC) in 2013 is now urging people to buy at least one Quant (QNT). Citing an asymmetric risk-reward structure, he pointed to its potential to surge to $10,000 in the long term, drawing significant market attention.
According to The Crypto Basic, a virtual asset and financial media outlet, on September 28 (local time), gold market analyst Jan Nieuwenhuijs recommended to his over 121,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter) to buy at least one Quant token. Nieuwenhuijs applied the same logic to Quant, quoting his own post from 2013 when Bitcoin was trading around $300: "Buy 1 BTC. The risk is losing $300, but the potential reward is $10,000."
When Quant was trading around $120, Nieuwenhuijs stated, "I recommend everyone buy at least 1 QNT. The risk is losing $120, but the potential reward is $10,000." This presented an asymmetric risk-reward perspective where the downside risk is limited to the entry price of $120, while the upside potential reaches $10,000. However, he did not provide a specific timeline for Quant to reach $10,000 or a detailed price calculation model.
Expectations for interoperability technology and adoption by traditional financial institutions are supporting this optimistic outlook. The Quant Network operates the Overledger infrastructure, which provides interoperability between blockchains, and there have been successive announcements regarding tokenized deposits and financial infrastructure collaborations. Cooperation with traditional financial infrastructure companies such as The Clearing House and Murex, along with listings on major exchanges, has concentrated buying interest.
The price showed an explosive surge as social media dissemination and FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) sentiment intertwined. As Nieuwenhuijs's post garnered over 10 million views and went viral, Quant's price soared from around $120 to $265, recording a weekly gain of approximately 300%. Quant's all-time high is approximately $428, and reaching $10,000 would require an additional surge of about 40 to 80 times its current price and a rapid expansion of its market capitalization.
As an investment narrative reminiscent of Bitcoin's early rally spreads, speculative interest in Quant in the market is intensifying. With short-term profit-taking after a 300% surge, the market is watching to see if Quant can prove its growth potential towards the long-term target of $10,000, based on institutional partnerships and technological capabilities.
