Kakao Group unveiled its business plan to establish a Korean Won stablecoin as a daily financial infrastructure at the 'Next Finance Korea' event held at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 28th, and proposed the formation of a cooperation body to co-design the ecosystem with domestic and international financial institutions and companies, Yonhap News reported. Yoon Ho-young, CEO of KakaoBank and co-head of the Kakao Group Stablecoin Joint TF, who delivered the opening keynote at the event, emphasized the need for inter-company collaboration, presenting ▲ activating the distribution of Korean Won stablecoins, ▲ establishing a digital asset-based payment and settlement infrastructure, and ▲ creating a co-existing ecosystem as key tasks for financial digital transformation. Subsequently, Son Kyung-hee, Senior Vice President of Kakao Pay Digital Asset Group, stated, "The goal of Kakao Group's digital asset business is to make Korean Won stablecoins actually and easily usable in daily services that people use every day."
