Amidst the rejection of the Cloture Vote for the CLARITY Act, a virtual asset clarity bill, which took place in the US Senate plenary session, Democratic Senator Angela Alsobrooks stated, "The bill will not be thwarted." According to Eleanor Terrett, host of the US podcast 'Crypto in America,' Angela Alsobrooks added, "Over 70 million Americans are participating in an unregulated industry. We have a responsibility to regulate it." She continued, "While Republican leadership pushed for today's vote, they are refusing to hold President Donald Trump accountable for what I've called corruption in the crypto industry. Republicans are playing political games." Angela Alsobrooks was one of two Democratic senators who voted in favor of moving the CLARITY Act to the floor for consideration in the Senate Banking Committee last May, but she voted against it in this vote.
