It's common to browse multiple product pages when trying to buy wireless earphones online. Comparing prices, battery life, and return conditions can often take more time to organize information than to make the purchase itself. During such tasks, a method of calling upon AI with a single shortcut key to assist is becoming concrete.

On September 10, Google unveiled the Gemini app for Windows. After installation, pressing the 'Alt' key and the spacebar together allows you to summon Gemini over your current work screen. Google presented document creation, information summarization, and idea generation as key use cases.

The change closely related to daily life in this release is the way AI is accessed. You can call AI while drafting a document or checking product information, get the necessary answers, and then return to your original task. According to Google's help, it supports drafting emails and documents, summarizing articles, documents, and web pages, and analyzing uploaded images.

This is an example request for utilization. It is not the result of actual product or price verification. The core is to distinguish between confirmed information and information that needs further examination, rather than demanding AI fill every blank. If the comparison table lacks return costs or battery life under specific feature usage, you can re-check the seller's description before purchasing.

The same method can be applied to everyday documents. For event announcements, you can extract application deadlines and required items; for product manuals, usage conditions and precautions. However, dates and numbers in the AI-organized content must be cross-referenced with the original text. It is difficult to assume that all necessary conditions are included simply because the summary is short and natural.

Domestic usage conditions have also been confirmed. Google states that the desktop app is provided in countries and languages where Gemini is supported, and the listed support includes Korea and Korean. The Windows app requires Windows 10 or higher, 8GB RAM or more, 200MB or more installation space, and a stable internet connection. For company or school accounts, administrators must allow Gemini usage.

Usage conditions vary by feature. Google specified that conditions such as a paid AI subscription and being over 18 years old apply to Gemini Spark, which handles multi-step tasks, and some video generation features. Screen information sharing and local folder integration are currently introduced as features of the Mac app, and additional features for Windows are planned for future expansion.

Shortcut keys reduce the process of calling AI. Its practical value in daily life is determined in the next stage. You must check whether omissions in purchase conditions have been found, or whether important dates in announcements have been accurately confirmed. When AI-organized results can be used for actual decision-making, the PC assistant becomes a tool that reduces daily effort.
