The way to send and receive Cardano (ADA) on WhatsApp has opened.
According to cryptocurrency specialized media The Crypto Basic on September 3rd (local time), ChatterPay co-founder Tomás Di Mauro announced that WhatsApp users can send Cardano and USDCx to contacts worldwide. WhatsApp has over 3 billion monthly active users. This means Cardano has gained a channel to expand its reach to a large messenger user base.
ChatterPay is a non-custodial WhatsApp wallet supported by the Orion Fund. It is designed to allow users unfamiliar with separate cryptocurrency wallets to create a Cardano wallet within the messenger. When a user requests account creation from the ChatterPay bot, a wallet is created, and then Cardano remittances, cryptocurrency purchases, and balance checks can be utilized.
The remittance method is also structured to be similar to sending a regular message. Users can select a contact in WhatsApp, then specify the amount to send and whether it's Cardano or USDCx. ChatterPay processes the transaction after receiving final confirmation. For Cardano users who do not use WhatsApp, remittances can be made by entering the wallet address, and a message can also be attached.
ChatterPay does not remain a Cardano-exclusive service. It also supports major blockchain networks such as Bitcoin (BTC), Solana (SOL), and Ethereum (ETH). It aims to be an integrated wallet for sending and receiving various digital assets within the messenger.
The key to this integration lies in simplifying the complex wallet creation and address input procedures to be messenger-centric. ChatterPay has focused on lowering the access barrier for users with little cryptocurrency experience by integrating Cardano and USDCx remittances into the everyday WhatsApp usage flow.
