Texas has reportedly suffered a total of $56.8 million in losses from cryptocurrency ATM scams over the past year. According to Cryptopolitan, approximately 1,200 Texas residents are estimated to have been victims of the scams. Crypto ATM scams typically occur when fraudsters impersonate government agencies or company employees, call victims, and falsely claim they are involved in legal issues or owe money. They then demand that victims convert cash into virtual assets via a crypto ATM and send it to a designated wallet address.
