Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair Jerome Powell stated at a press conference on the 29th (local time) that the current monetary policy may be in a range that has a neutral impact on the economy. Chair Powell explained, "I believe we are very close to the neutral rate," adding, "The neutral rate could be in the 3-4% range, and the current target range for the federal funds rate is 3.5-3.75%." He added, "If a rate hike is necessary, we will signal it and raise it, and the same applies in the opposite case."
