Cointelegraph reported that the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is pushing for regulatory reforms to allow cryptocurrency companies to offer derivatives through existing legal entities. The regulatory authority is currently soliciting opinions on proposed rule amendments that would allow crypto businesses to apply directly for derivatives licenses without needing to establish a separate legal entity. This is expected to lower barriers to entry into the derivatives market and bring related activities under stricter regulatory oversight. The SEC stated, "The amendment will provide investors with additional tools for hedging and portfolio management, and support derivatives exchanges and clearinghouses in aligning their standards with international practices."
