Frank Chaparro, Head of Content at crypto market-making firm GSR, shared his impressions from visiting Korea Blockchain Week (KBW), stating, "The Korean crypto market is expected to see significant growth. Individual participation is already very active, but institutional infrastructure is still relatively inadequate." He explained via X that "there aren't many institutional market makers and custody providers, and there's no significant over-the-counter (OTC) market like in the U.S. yet. This is expected to change significantly over the next few years." He further predicted, "Once the infrastructure is established, there's a possibility that major Korean corporations will incorporate cryptocurrencies into their financial statements as part of diversified investments, allocating up to 10%." He also added, "Upbit is a key player in the Korean market. Major U.S. investors, including a16z, have shown significant interest in supporting Korean founders."
