CryptoBriefing reported, citing DeFiLlama, that up to 277 hacking incidents occurred in the cryptocurrency market this year by the end of September, with damages totaling approximately $1.84 billion. Last year, on an annual basis, 148 incidents resulted in approximately $2.715 billion in damages. In the third quarter of this year alone, 116 security incidents occurred, resulting in the leakage of over $1.25 billion in assets, marking the largest quarterly damage. Major incidents included the $320 million leak from Liquid Network on September 6th and a $387 million hack involving Bitget. Bitget's incident was identified as the largest single hack in terms of damage this year.
