Cryptobriefing reported that Ostium, an Arbitrum (ARB)-based decentralized tokenized asset perpetual futures trading platform, has fully compensated the losses of 3,321 wallets affected by a hack in July and proposed separate recovery plans for the remaining 345 affected wallets. The outlet explained, “On July 15, an attacker compromised Ostium's off-chain infrastructure, not its smart contracts, and then submitted manipulated BTC-USD price information. Subsequently, a total of 23.75 million USDC was siphoned off through eight abnormal transactions. Ostium Labs decided to use its own funds to cover the losses of affected liquidity providers. Full reimbursement was provided to 3,321 wallets with relatively small damage amounts, and a term sheet outlining recovery plans was delivered to the remaining 345 wallets on August 29.”
