Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated that congressional legislation, not regulatory agency action, is needed to ensure the sustainability of US cryptocurrency regulation. According to BeInCrypto, Cuomo, who currently serves as an OKX director, pointed out in an interview with Bloomberg that "Regulations are not laws. Temporary rules set by regulatory agencies can be subject to review again by a new Congress." He added, "The recent failure to pass the Clarity Act was not due to an inability to bridge the gap between the two parties, but rather due to the political situation ahead of the elections. The bill should be processed again within the year, and if not, it must be re-pursued by January 1st of next year at the latest."
