Phillip Lord, CEO of Bitcoin Japan (formerly Hotamarusho), a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan, announced via X that the company had purchased 11.9188 BTC for $999,479 through its wholly-owned subsidiary, BTC JPN Ltd. The average purchase price was $83,857. He explained that this purchase is not based on short-term price forecasts but is the first step in a long-term BTC accumulation strategy, and the company plans to consider additional purchases taking into account market conditions, available funds, liquidity, and risk management. Previously, Bitcoin Japan's board of directors had approved the purchase of BTC up to $1 million.
