Domestic stablecoin-related stocks closed lower on the 15th due to uncertainty surrounding the procedural vote on the US Clarity Bill.
According to the Korea Exchange, Hecto Financial [234340] closed the regular trading session on this day at 22,000 won, down 3.72% from the previous trading day.
In addition, Danal [064260] (-0.50%) and Dozen [462860] (-1.26%) also declined.
The stock prices of these companies rose in early trading but then reversed to a decline.
This is believed to be due to increased uncertainty related to the Clarity Bill.
The U.S. Senate will hold its first procedural vote for the deliberation of the 'Digital Asset Market Clarity Act', also known as the Clarity Bill, in a plenary session on the morning of the 16th, Korea time.
Uncertainty grew again as Democrats opposed the conflict of interest issue involving U.S. President Donald Trump.
Although there were recent suggestions that the Clarity Bill might be processed within the year as President Trump made some concessions, it has been reported that Democrats plan to send a counter-proposal to Republicans ahead of the vote.
Bloomberg reported that "Democrats push back on GOP's latest offer," causing cryptocurrency prices to fall in the Asian market this afternoon.
Lee Jun-ho, a researcher at Hana Financial Investment, stated, "More than 60 votes are needed for passage, requiring bipartisan agreement from the Democrats. This vote should not be interpreted as a final vote, but rather as entry into Senate floor negotiations if passed, or a delay in the institutionalization of the Clarity Bill within the year if rejected."
