China calls US companies like Nvidia to explain investment policies ahead of Xi Jinping's visit to the US.

NDRC introduces foreign investment attraction and consumption promotion policies to over 60 US companies.

The Chinese government invited US companies operating in China, such as Nvidia, ahead of the US-China summit scheduled for the end of this month, to explain policies on attracting foreign investment and boosting consumption, urging them to invest.

According to China Central Television (CCTV) and others on the 11th, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), which oversees China's macroeconomic policies, held a roundtable meeting with representatives of US-based multinational corporations in Beijing the previous day.

About 60 companies from the technology and computing, industrial and energy, and consumption and pharmaceutical sectors, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Nvidia, Dell, and Honeywell China, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the NDRC introduced the main contents of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), which began this year, and policies for utilizing foreign capital.

It also explained the progress of policies such as large-scale equipment replacement, the "trade-in" policy for consumer goods (以舊換新, supporting the replacement of old products with new ones), and major policies to boost consumption.

The NDRC stated, "Relevant officials introduced Beijing's economic and social development situation and investment environment and exchanged views with multinational corporate representatives."

This meeting was held ahead of the summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Although the Chinese government has not announced President Xi's schedule for his visit to the US, President Trump stated that President Xi is scheduled to visit the US on the 24th for a summit with him.

China is expanding its contact with US business circles ahead of the US-China summit.

Premier Li Qiang met with a delegation from the Board of Directors of the US-China Business Council in Beijing on the 1st, emphasizing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and stating China's intention to support the business activities of US companies operating in China.

Premier Li said, "Given the large scale of China-US economic and trade cooperation, it is normal for some frictions and disagreements to occur," and emphasized, "Only by strengthening communication and negotiation in the spirit of mutual respect and equal dialogue can we find ways to resolve problems."

He also stressed, "We will actively address the reasonable demands and concerns of US companies operating in China and create a market environment where various companies can compete fairly in accordance with the law."
