Web infrastructure company Cloudflare has launched a stablecoin wallet to support payments for AI agent APIs and online content. According to The Block, only the first phase has been released so far, allowing users to apply for a wallet handle linked to their account. Key wallet features, such as stablecoin top-ups and payments, will be provided in the future. The x402 protocol, developed and nurtured by Coinbase, supports micropayments, allowing agents to secure payment and access rights without existing accounts, subscriptions, or API keys.
