Politico reported that U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego (D) is negotiating a compromise on the ethics provisions of the CLARITY Act with Republican Senator Thom Tillis, and they are coordinating a plan to grant enforcement authority for the regulations not only to the Department of Justice but also to state attorneys general. Gallego stated on July 27 (local time) that he plans to finalize the text to be sent to the White House in the coming days. Senator Tillis also said that the plan, including enforcement authority for state attorneys general, will be included in the text to be sent to the White House, adding that "a reasonable baseline has been reached."
