Ledger Executive "If US Blocks Stablecoin Interest, Overseas Regulatory Competition Will Ignite"

Ledger's Asia-Pacific head predicted that if stablecoin interest payments are prohibited in the US, other countries might move towards allowing them. In an interview with Cointelegraph, he explained, "If the US broadly restricts stablecoin interest payments, it will trigger discussions among overseas regulatory authorities and the industry about how to respond. While some countries, such as Australia, offer regulatory flexibility to stablecoin issuers, in reality, most stablecoins do not provide interest or rewards to users due to the interests of the banking sector. If US policy changes, discussions will begin in earnest between issuers and overseas regulatory authorities on whether to allow a structure that provides stablecoin interest to users."
