LG Electronics Ryu Jae-cheol "LG Robots, trained in cooperation with Nvidia·Google"
On the 16th, emphasized robot differentiation points such as 70 years of accumulated lifestyle data via LinkedIn
Ryu Jae-cheol, CEO of LG Electronics, emphasized the differentiated competitiveness of LG Electronics' robots, highlighting strategic partnerships with Nvidia and Google.
CEO Ryu stated in his LinkedIn post on the 16th, "LG Electronics has accumulated deep 'lifestyle data' in its home appliance and customer service businesses for nearly 70 years," adding, "We are experts in home services."
LG Electronics is accelerating its software and hardware capabilities by strengthening its professional capabilities in industrial sites such as smart factories through Bear Robotics, which it acquired last year, and its affiliate 'Robostar', and by expanding investment in figure AI with Chinese humanoid company AgiBot.
CEO Ryu emphasized, "We are enhancing contextual understanding with Google Gemini and collaborating with Nvidia's Isaac platform to train and test robots in a digital twin environment," adding, "With the support of vertically integrated hardware and software optimized for robotics, we have secured powerful on-device AI capabilities."
LG Electronics plans to evolve home appliances into robot solutions, starting with commercial and professional service robots.
CEO Ryu stated, "Our roadmap is clear," adding, "Ultimately, we will introduce robots that act as 'conductors of space' to coordinate the entire home."
LG Electronics is currently expanding its robot business, centered on the home robot 'LG Cloi', and is also developing core components such as actuators for robots. CEO Ryu visited Shanghai, China, for three days starting on the 11th, to examine humanoid robot technology trends with AgiBot executives and discuss potential cooperation.
