Cryptocurrency mixing protocol Tornado Cash is once again drawing attention during the U.S. Senate Banking Committee's markup process for the Clarity Act, according to Eleanor Terrett, host of Crypto in America. During the markup, U.S. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, an opponent of cryptocurrencies, stated to Senator John Kennedy, "(The Clarity Act) is a Tornado problem. Do you remember that mixer? What was Tornado Cash used for, anyway? It was for terrorists to put money into." Terrett explained, "Republican lawmakers are arguing that the Clarity Act can solve the problem of illegal money laundering, but Warren says the bill is not sufficient."
