The Trump administration requested a stay of an unfavorable ruling on the 10% global tariff from a U.S. court on the 11th (local time). This action is intended to allow the federal government to continue with the appeal process. Previously, on the 8th, the U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT) ruled against the tariff measure but did not completely halt tariff collections. The Trump administration officially appealed on the same day. If the court approves the stay, the 10% global tariff will be re-imposed on the three importers who filed lawsuits against the government's tariff policy. This 10% global tariff was implemented in February of this year. At that time, after the U.S. Supreme Court invalidated most of the Trump administration's 2025 tariff measures, the administration pursued a new global tariff policy based on Section 122 of the 1974 Trade Act. Currently, this tariff measure is set to expire in July of this year unless Congress decides to extend it.
