Jed Finn, Head of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, stated, "DeFi will be treated like traditional finance in 5 years, and the term DeFi itself will no longer exist." He made this statement at the Consensus 2026 event, explaining, "Ultimately, traditional finance will absorb DeFi." In addition, he announced the launch of Morgan Stanley's new cryptocurrency-related product at the event. This product allows users to transfer cryptocurrencies held on external platforms to a Morgan Stanley account, convert them into an ETF, and even obtain a loan using them as collateral without selling them. He explained that this allows for securing liquidity without taxation.
