Moon Kyung-ho, head of the Income Tax System Division at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, stated on the 7th, premising it as the ministry's position, that “virtual asset taxation will proceed as scheduled in January next year.” This is the first time the Ministry of Economy and Finance has publicly expressed its stance on virtual asset taxation. According to E-Daily, regarding specific taxation measures, Director Moon said, “The National Tax Service is preparing related public notices,” and “We expect the public notice to be revealed externally soon.” He added, “(The National Tax Service) has been coordinating practically with the five major virtual asset operators (Dunamu, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, Gopax) through several meetings to prepare the public notice draft,” and “We expect the National Tax Service’s public notice to be legislatively announced soon.”
