Aave has filed an emergency motion in federal court asking to unfreeze approximately $73 million worth of Ethereum related to the KelpDAO attack. According to The Block, this challenges the May 1 (local time) order that prevented Arbitrum (ARB) from moving the recovered funds. Aave refutes these claims, stating they are based on unproven speculation that the KelpDAO attack was carried out by the North Korean hacking group Lazarus Group. Even if true, Aave argues that temporary possession of stolen assets does not imply ownership. Aave founder Stani Kulechov emphasized, "A thief cannot own what they steal. These funds belong to the victims who were robbed. There is no more room for debate."
