Yonhap News reported that the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) under the Financial Services Commission appealed against the first-instance ruling that ordered the cancellation of the partial suspension of Dunamu's business operations. The FIU filed an appeal with the Seoul Administrative Court this morning, challenging the ruling to revoke Dunamu's sanctions. This lawsuit originated when the FIU, in February of last year, detected alleged violations of the Act on Reporting and Using Specified Financial Transaction Information (Special Financial Information Act) by Dunamu and its employees, and subsequently notified them of a three-month partial business suspension, among other measures. The legal battle between the FIU and Dunamu is expected to continue to the second instance.
