It has been confirmed that the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) has completed on-site inspections and is reviewing whether to impose sanctions regarding the overseas transfer of personal information in the process of virtual asset exchanges Upbit and Bithumb sharing order books with overseas exchanges. According to SBS Biz, the PIPC has been investigating since early this year whether personal information was transferred overseas in connection with Upbit and Bithumb's 'order book sharing'. Currently, it is in the stage preceding a judgment on the violation of the Personal Information Protection Act, with virtually only the decision on sanctions remaining.
