A prediction that Bitcoin (BTC) will see a massive surge, exceeding ten times its current price by 2030, is once again fueling long-term bullish sentiment in the market.
According to crypto media outlet Benzinga on April 29 (local time), Cathie Wood, CEO of ARK Invest, predicted that Bitcoin's price would reach $730,000 by 2030. Wood emphasized, "Although there has been a recent downturn, the bullish trend in the cryptocurrency market remains robust," adding, "The inflow of institutional funds through Bitcoin spot ETFs is fundamentally changing the market's underlying strength."
Wood defined Bitcoin as digital gold, foreseeing its position as a store of value replacing traditional financial assets to become even stronger. She specifically noted that if major global pension funds and sovereign wealth funds allocate about 5% of their portfolios to Bitcoin, the price is bound to rise exponentially. She also characterized current market volatility as a temporary correction occurring during a long-term upward trend, urging investors to be patient.
According to an optimistic scenario analyzed by ARK Invest, Bitcoin's market capitalization will surpass that of gold, establishing itself as a core pillar of the global financial system. CEO Wood explained that the lowered barrier to entry for institutional investors is a distinguishing factor compared to past bull markets. Bitcoin spot ETFs provide investors with a channel to safely manage assets in a regulated environment and play a key role in providing liquidity.
Although Bitcoin's price recently fell below the $60,000 mark, dampening investor sentiment, CEO Wood regarded this as an opportunity for bargain hunting. She argued that Bitcoin's scarcity and the security of its decentralized network would be increasingly valued over time. Technical indicators such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) also support her claims by maintaining long-term bullish signals.
Bitcoin is now evolving beyond a mere digital asset into a unique means of defending against global economic uncertainties. CEO Wood's outlook suggests that the cryptocurrency market has moved past its initial adoption phase and entered a period of significant maturity. Investors are strategically utilizing short-term volatility encountered on the journey toward the 2030 target price of $730,000, anticipating long-term value appreciation.
