U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair Jerome Powell stated at a press conference on the 29th (local time) that while there was a member who voted against maintaining the dovish tone in the statement at the recent monetary policy meeting, it was not a preference for an interest rate hike. Chair Powell explained, "It was not a claim that interest rates should be raised, but a discussion of whether the Fed should take a neutral stance on the policy outlook."
