Following virtual asset exchanges Upbit and Bithumb, Coinone has also filed a lawsuit, defying the financial authorities' sanction of partial business suspension.
According to industry sources on the 28th, Coinone recently filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Administrative Court to cancel the partial business suspension order. It also applied for an injunction against the sanction.
The partial business suspension is a measure that temporarily restricts only the external virtual asset deposits and withdrawals for new customers. Virtual asset trading/exchanges, KRW deposits/withdrawals, etc., are possible without restrictions.
On the 13th, Coinone received sanctions from the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) under the Financial Services Commission, including a three-month partial business suspension and fines, for reasons such as violating anti-money laundering obligations.
A Coinone official stated, "This is a matter carefully decided after multi-faceted review," and added, "We plan to diligently explain the company's position through the ongoing process."
