The proof-of-work (PoW) based layer-1 blockchain Litecoin (LTC) network was exposed to a 'zero-day' vulnerability on the 25th (local time), resulting in a bug where 13 blocks were reconfigured. According to Cointelegraph, the Litecoin team explained via their official X account, "A zero-day bug caused a DoS attack on major mining pools. Unupdated nodes allowed incorrect MWEB transactions, but 13 blocks were reconfigured, canceling the transactions. These transactions were not included in the main chain, and the bug has been fully patched."
