Even as Bitcoin continues its upward trend, investors have realized over $5,000,000,000 in profits in just one week, seemingly adopting a 'staggered selling during ascent' strategy.
According to the cryptocurrency media outlet Finbold on April 25 (local time), Bitcoin (BTC) investors recorded approximately $5,460,000,000 in realized profits over the past week. This data, compiled based on the on-chain analytics firm Glassnode, shows a recurring trend of profit-taking during recent price increases.
Notably, on some trading days, the daily realized profit approached or exceeded $1,000,000,000. This indicates that investors are systematically selling not out of fear, but to 'capitalize on bullish periods' whenever the price rises. Bitcoin is currently trading between $77,000 and $78,000, moving just below the $78,000-$80,000 resistance zone.
This trend is interpreted as a sideways market characterized by 'controlled, distributed selling' rather than a sharp decline. The structure of gradually realizing profits even amid an uptrend suggests that the market has entered a more mature phase, indicating that investors are balancing expectations with risk management.
Recent price movements also appear to be more heavily influenced by investor behavior than traditional support and resistance levels. Unlike past instances, such as a roughly 36% drop after breaking out of a 123-day consolidation range, followed by another 39% drop after a 75-day sideways movement, the current 82-day channel has seen a rebound based on the $58,600-$70,000 support zone, retesting the upper bound of $78,000.
Bitcoin is currently trading around $77,636, maintaining an approximate 1% weekly gain. The market views the breakthrough of $80,000 as a key turning point for future direction, with forecasts suggesting that if this level is surpassed, further upside to $85,000-$90,000 could open up.
