Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on the 25th that if the United States and Iran reach a peace agreement, Turkey could consider participating in mine removal operations in the Strait of Hormuz. Following the agreement, technical teams are expected to carry out mine clearance work in the strait, and Turkey explained that it views such operations as a humanitarian responsibility in principle, taking a positive stance. However, Fidan added that if this multinational technical coalition becomes a party to a new conflict in the future, Turkey will re-evaluate its position. Minister Fidan also stated that issues related to Iran's nuclear program could be resolved at the upcoming meeting in Pakistan.
