The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it is initiating a compensation process for victims of the OneCoin cryptocurrency pyramid scheme fraud. According to Daily Hodl, more than $40 million in recovered assets are currently available for distribution. Victims must submit proof of investment through an official portal by June 30. Although the recovered amount is only about 1% of the total damages, it is expected to be the first tangible relief measure for victims who have been neglected for a long time. Operating from 2014 to 2019, OneCoin defrauded investors worldwide of more than $4 billion.
