It has been confirmed that American Airlines, a major U.S. airline, has achieved results exceeding expectations since adopting Ripple's enterprise treasury solution.
According to a report by the cryptocurrency media outlet The Crypto Basic on April 21 (local time), American Airlines internally evaluated the performance of its ‘Ripple Treasury’ utilization as “better than expected.”
The report stated that the airline significantly improved operational efficiency by integrating its previously decentralized financial management systems and bank portals into a single platform. This reduction in repetitive tasks has created an environment where the finance team can focus on more strategic work.
Ryan Millard, American Airlines' Head of Global Banking and Treasury Services, stated that the financial technology infrastructure has significantly improved since the adoption of Ripple Treasury. He emphasized that integrating all treasury management functions into a single system led to better-than-expected results.
Ripple Treasury is an enterprise treasury management solution connected to a global banking network, providing the ability to integrate and manage cash flows across various financial institutions.
This case is regarded as an example where the GTreasury-based platform, acquired by Ripple for approximately $1 billion, has proven its performance in a real large enterprise environment. American Airlines has been using the system since before the acquisition and has reportedly expanded its scope of use since then.
In particular, American Airlines is a global airline operating to over 350 destinations in more than 60 countries, possessing a complex financial structure. Previously, relying on fragmented systems, spreadsheets, and individual bank portals consistently led to issues of inefficiency and duplicate work.
To solve these problems, Ripple Treasury provided a collateral management system and an integrated database, allowing for the centralized management of aircraft assets and contract information. This is analyzed to have simultaneously strengthened control and and visibility over financial operations.
