BeInCrypto reported that a developer of the open-source e-cash protocol Cashu implemented a method to transfer tokens, exchangeable for Bitcoin (BTC), from devices not connected to the internet, using Apple's 'Find My' network. In this method, a small device sends tokens via Bluetooth, similar to an AirTag's lost signal. Nearby iPhones then relay this to the 'Find My' network, and the recipient collects the signals to recover the tokens. However, the developer advised sending only small amounts that are acceptable to lose, stating that 'the transmitted data is public, so anyone who obtains the tokens can use them.' The transfer speed is also slow, and since it uses Apple's unofficial interface, operation may cease if Apple changes it.
