Japan's major financial group SBI Holdings announced on September 30 that it is promoting the establishment of a joint venture with digital asset payment network company Mesh and fintech company Money Forward to build digital asset and stablecoin payment infrastructure in Japan. The joint venture aims to launch in Q4 2026, subject to final contract signing and regulatory approval. The three companies plan to promote account linking and asset transfers between exchanges and wallets, improve digital asset purchase and subscription procedures, build regulated stablecoin infrastructure, and manage tokenized assets for financial institutions and corporations. They will also consider building cross-border payment infrastructure connecting digital assets, stablecoins, and fiat currencies.
