Federal Reserve (Fed) Governor Christopher Waller attended the Cibos Conference and identified artificial intelligence (AI), stablecoins, and tokenization as key to future payments. According to CryptoBriefing, he stated, "There is no reason to fear new technologies or payment service providers. Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and AI are tools to solve global transaction problems." He further explained, "DLT and tokenization have the potential to make payment systems faster and more transparent. Smart contracts, which execute automatically when certain conditions are met, can significantly eliminate manual reconciliation tasks that slow down inter-institutional payment speeds."
