Bitget CEO Gracy Chen shared the progress 12 hours after the recent security incident occurred during a live broadcast. Chen stated, “The affected assets include ETH, XRP, BNB, AVAX, USDT, USDC, etc., with the largest damage occurring on the XRP Ledger among individual blockchains. The confirmed affected networks are Ethereum, XRP Ledger, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, BSC, and Base. However, the cold wallets of all networks remain secure. Immediately after the hacking, Bitget contacted the foundations of each affected blockchain, and some foundations have confirmed that measures to freeze hacker addresses have been taken. Analysis of IP activity and on-chain data revealed that the attack method is significantly similar to the existing patterns of North Korean-linked hacking organizations, and we have reported it to relevant authorities and are cooperating with international investigations.”
