Microsoft (MSFT) is once again testing its direction at the $500 level, which it has failed to surpass for a month. While Wall Street remains cautious that bearish pressure could increase if the stock falls to the $490s, it has raised its target price to $575, suggesting a potential additional upside of approximately 15%.
According to cryptocurrency media outlet Watcher.Guru on September 25 (local time), Microsoft reached $500 with the market open on Thursday. Despite its market capitalization reaching $3.72 trillion, the stock has not clearly broken the $500 level over the past month. The outlet reported that if the stock falls from its current level to the $490s, bearish trends could strengthen, and buying sentiment could weaken.
Brad Reback, Managing Director at Stifel Nicolaus, a global asset management and investment bank, predicted that Microsoft would surpass $500 and head towards new highs. In a report sent to clients on the 22nd, he raised the target price for MSFT and recommended investors initiate a buy.
Reback increased the target price by $45 from the previous $530 to $575. Based on the current $500 level, this represents an upside potential of approximately $75 per share, with an expected return on investment (ROI) of about 15%. If this forecast materializes, an investment of $1,000 would grow to approximately $1,150.
Microsoft's stock price has shown a clear sideways trend, rising by only about 6% since the beginning of 2026. Watcher.Guru stated that the stock has not yet shown a full breakout trend and that a new rally is needed to attract additional investors and expand the upward momentum. Whether it breaks the $500 mark in the future is considered a key observation point for its journey towards the $575 target price.
