Wu Blockchain reported that Hsin-Ju Chuang, a former partner at cryptocurrency fund manager Hack VC, was found dead on August 24 near the entrance ramp to Interstate 15 in the Mojave Desert, California, USA. She was 37 years old, and local investigative agencies are currently investigating the exact cause of death. In a post published a few days before her death, she stated that while working at Hack VC, she suffered from severe hyperthyroidism due to Graves' disease and insomnia. Despite this, she claimed that company partners pressured her to be expelled from the industry, forcing her to continue high-intensity work and preparations for events related to Korea Blockchain Week (KBW). She had previously stated that she refused a settlement, including confidential mediation and a non-disclosure agreement with the company, and was planning to disclose evidence related to the dispute on August 26. However, no connection between her death and the dispute with the company has been confirmed.
