Democratic Party lawmaker Park Min-kyu pointed out that it is premature to implement taxation from January next year when the Digital Asset Basic Act has not even been enacted. Rep. Park stated, "Clear tax standards and guidelines have not even been established. If we implement taxation before the automatic exchange system for digital asset transaction information between countries (CARF) fully operates, only domestic exchange users may be disadvantaged. From the perspective of tax fairness, it is not desirable to tax only digital assets when the financial investment income tax has been abolished. The government should postpone digital asset taxation and focus on enacting the Digital Asset Basic Act rather than pushing for unprepared taxation." This statement by Rep. Park is the second opinion against cryptocurrency taxation from within the Democratic Party.
