CoinDesk reported that Bitcoin (BTC) is likely to record its first three consecutive months of monthly gains since 2012, continuing its upward trend in September after July and August. Bitcoin rose 4.8% in July and 25.2% in August, and is currently up about 10% in September. Such a three-month consecutive rise has only occurred once in Bitcoin's history, in 2012. At that time, the July-September gains were 41.0%, 6.4%, and 24.4% respectively, followed by a 9.7% drop in October. However, analysis suggests that the 2012 case is limited as a basis for judging the current market direction, as it is only a single instance.
