CryptoSlate reported that XRP Ledger (XRPL) validators have entered a conditional procedure for the activation of 'BatchV1_1' on September 29, which fixes a critical signature authority vulnerability in the existing Batch function. As of September 22, 30 out of 35 trusted validators have approved, exceeding the 80% threshold. If support is maintained, it is scheduled to be activated on September 29 at 14:06:41 (UTC). Previously, a vulnerability was discovered in the original Batch function where validation would terminate prematurely if a signature meeting specific conditions was found during the process of verifying batch approval accounts. If an attacker exploited this, there was a possibility that transactions could be executed without the victim's signature, but the function was blocked before it could be activated on the mainnet. Subsequently, XRPL developed BatchV1_1, which applies new authentication logic and additional defense features.
