Dunamu is inviting former global regulatory officials and leaders from the financial and digital asset industries to Seoul. They will discuss the next changes in the global digital financial market after institutional integration, ranging from digital asset regulations and market structures to tokenization, institutional investment, on-chain finance, and artificial intelligence (AI).
According to Dunamu on the 22nd, the 'Upbit Institutional Summit (UIS) 2026' will be held on the 29th at Grand Walkerhill Seoul in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. This is an invitation-only event involving policy authorities, institutional investors, financial companies, and digital asset and technology companies. Starting with this year's event, Dunamu plans to develop UIS into a regular platform where global policy, finance, and industry stakeholders discuss changes in digital finance.
A notable aspect is the participation of prominent figures from global regulatory and policy fields. Brian Quintenz, former Commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC); Harry Jeong, former Deputy Director of the White House Presidential Advisory Committee on Digital Assets; and Caroline Pham, former Acting Chair of the CFTC, will speak as presenters. From Europe, Peter Kerstens, Advisor for Financial Technology and Cybersecurity at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA), will participate. Industry and technology leaders such as Johan Kerbrat of Robinhood, Sheila Warren of Advanced AI Society, Trevor Traina of Tools for Humanity, and Will Papper of Cloudflare will also join.
The scope of discussion is not limited to regulation. It will cover digital asset regulations and market structure changes in major markets, including the U.S., new asset distribution structures due to tokenization, institutional market entry, and the Asian regulatory landscape. 'On-chain finance,' which moves financial functions based on blockchain, and the convergence of AI and blockchain will also be key agenda items. As regulatory frameworks become more concrete and the participation of traditional financial companies expands in the global digital asset market, the focus is on the changes in institutions and actual financial infrastructure.
The on-chain transition of the domestic financial sector will also be discussed as a separate agenda item. Professor Lee Jong-sup of Seoul National University Business School will chair the discussion, with Choi Won-seok, Head of Dunamu's Global Business; Um Tae-sung, Executive Director of Hana Financial Group and Head of Hana Bank's AI Digital Innovation Group; Ahn In-sung, Vice President and Head of Digital Innovation Division at Hanwha Investment & Securities; and Hwang Sung-won, Chief Digital Platform Officer (CDPO) of Samsung Financial Networks, participating in the debate. They will discuss the possibility and actual direction of the shift of existing financial industries, such as banks and securities, to blockchain-based finance.
In Seoul, a major blockchain event will follow immediately after UIS. The main conference of 'Korea Blockchain Week 2026 (KBW 2026)' will be held from September 30th to October 1st, with Dunamu participating as a presenting partner. Oh Kyung-seok, CEO of Dunamu, will deliver a presentation at KBW titled 'Beyond Digital Asset Trading, Towards Financial Infrastructure for Connection.' As interest in the digital asset market shifts from simple trading to regulation, institutional investment, tokenization, and financial infrastructure, attention is focused on the two-day global industry discussions in Seoul.
