On-chain analytics firm Santiment reported that as Ethereum broke past $2,630 on the 18th (local time), reaching its highest point since January this year, whale activity is also becoming more active. Santiment stated, "The current number of non-empty Ethereum wallets is 207 million, an all-time high. This shows that Ethereum has secured a broad holding base despite the unstable market trends over several months." They added, "Staking is also a major factor supporting long-term Ethereum holdings. Currently, over 40 million ETH are staked. DeFi is also increasing Ethereum's utility. The total value locked (TVL) in DeFi securing the Ethereum network is approximately $50 billion. Various markets such as stablecoins, lending, decentralized exchanges (DEX), and liquid staking have formed, allowing Ethereum holders not only to expect simple price increases but also to utilize their holdings in diverse ways."
