Further amendments to the provisions would likely require re-approval from the White House, and everyone involved is clearly aware that time is running out." She added, "A source on the Democratic side said, 'It's very intense work, but there's simply not enough time.'" A Republican official also reconfirmed this atmosphere. "An industry insider at the Capitol today, after discussions with lawmakers, reported that the bill is expected to fall short of the 60 votes needed to be brought to the floor," Terrett concluded.
