The XRP Ledger has set an all-time high by processing 3,254 transactions in a single ledger.
According to U.Today, a cryptocurrency specialized media outlet, on September 14 (local time), XRP Ledger validator Vet revealed that 3,254 transactions were processed in a single ledger. Vet stated, “A few hours ago, 3,254 transactions were processed in a single ledger of the XRP Ledger. It’s a new record.”
A significant portion of the record-breaking transaction volume consisted of micro-payments sending 1 drop of XRP. 1 drop is the smallest unit of XRP. Vet explained that while the purpose of the transactions is unknown, “it appears to be a throughput test.”
However, the number 3,254 does not mean that the XRP Ledger’s permanent processing limit has suddenly increased. The XRP Ledger does not apply the same maximum number of transactions to all ledgers. It uses a method of adjusting the target transaction volume based on how quickly validators process transactions.
Vet explained that if the previous ledger contained transactions exceeding the target and closed quickly, the target could be increased. He added that such a move demonstrates a healthy consensus state and allows the network to process more transactions. However, he emphasized that the processing burden on the XRP Ledger is not the same for 3,254 simple payments and 3,254 complex transactions.
The XRP Ledger is also preparing several protocol improvements based on xrpld 3.3.0, released on August 6. BatchV1_1 is closest to meeting the required validator support criteria among the new features. As of September 14, 27 out of 35 trusted validators support BatchV1_1.

-Most of the transactions were simple payments of 1 XRP drop, and Vet mentioned the possibility of a throughput test.
-Instead of a fixed maximum number of transactions, the XRP Ledger adjusts the target transaction volume based on validation speed.
