The XRP Ledger, the underlying network of XRP, has once again demonstrated its ability to process concentrated transactions in a short time, verifying 2,713 transactions in a single ledger and then setting a new record high of 2,768 transactions.
According to U.Today, a cryptocurrency specialized media outlet, on September 13 (local time), Hussein Zangana (Vet), Community Director of the XRP Ledger Foundation, announced that the XRP Ledger's single-ledger transaction processing record has increased to 2,768. Previously, ledger number 106,943,716 set an all-time high at the time by verifying 2,713 transactions in a single ledger. Zangana stated, “The new XRP single-ledger transaction record is 2,768.”
Recently, the XRP Ledger has repeatedly seen instances where over 2,000 transactions were processed in a single ledger. According to data shared by Zangana, even with 2,713 transactions pouring in, the consensus process remained stable, and the ledger was closed in just 3.8 seconds. He emphasized that the XRP Ledger's fast and low-cost transaction processing makes it suitable for large-scale institutional use compared to other public blockchains.
However, a significant portion of the transaction volume surge was different in nature from typical user activity. Zangana explained that most were 1-drop transactions circulating between 20 accounts, part of a process where multiple bots explored the network by sending transactions at the same time. Node operators were advised that if a 1008 policy error occurs when fetching data from the node, they might need to increase the message size limit for WebSocket transaction subscription connections.
The expansion of XRP Ledger's functionality continues. Zangana predicted an increasing demand for zero-knowledge identity and mentioned amendments XLS-70 for verifiable credentials and XLS-40 for decentralized identity. He evaluated these as potentially another use case for blockchain beyond simply transferring funds and value, and the possibility of private identity features being proposed for the XRP Ledger in the future was also suggested.
The fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment, which enhances protocol stability, has also been activated. This amendment includes modifications targeting several core functionalities of the XRP Ledger, such as single-asset vaults and lending protocols, automated market makers, and permissioned DEXs. Along with breaking transaction processing records, the stability and functional expansion of the underlying protocol are progressing simultaneously.
[Article Key Summary]
-The XRP Ledger broke its record again, verifying 2,713 transactions in a single ledger and then reaching a new high of 2,768.
-The ledger that processed 2,713 transactions maintained stable consensus and closed in 3.8 seconds.
-Amendments related to zero-knowledge identity features and enhancing protocol stability are also being pursued.
