Hana Securities, Upbit Global sign MOU for virtual asset and finance business cooperation
Hana Securities announced on the 14th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 11th with Upbit Global, which oversees the overseas business of virtual asset exchange Upbit, for business cooperation in the virtual asset and finance sectors.
Starting with this MOU, the two companies will cooperate in developing virtual asset management business models, designing and launching virtual asset-related products and services, and establishing infrastructure and systems.
Hana Securities operates the asset management company 'HAMA' (Hana Asset Management Asia) in Singapore, and Upbit Global also has a base in Singapore and continues its overseas virtual asset business.
Kang Sung-mook, CEO of Hana Securities, said, "Hana Securities is accelerating its digital asset-related business to quickly establish a foundation for issuing and trading traditional financial products such as stocks, bonds, and funds in a tokenized manner." He added, "We will progressively build related infrastructure, including issuance platforms, in line with the speed of tokenized securities (STO) institutionalization, and actively prepare for the full-fledged STO market next year."
