Patrick Witt, Secretary General of the White House Cryptocurrency Commission, refuted claims that community banks were excluded from negotiations for stablecoin compensation regulations under the CLARITY Act. Witt stated via X, "The American Bankers Association (ABA) and the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) both attended relevant White House meetings, and while we asked individual member banks about their willingness to attend, we did not receive a response." This was in response to Jill Castilla, CEO of Citizens Bank of Edmond, who pointed out that she and other community bank officials had not received invitations from the administration to participate in the negotiations. Witt emphasized that the stablecoin compensation regulation compromise was reached through consultation with Senators Thom Tillis and Angela Alsobrooks, and community bank representatives.
